Media and Communication Coordinator
The Women’s Centre for Legal Aid and Counseling (WCLAC), an independent Palestinian organization established in 1991, aims to contribute to the establishment of a democratic Palestinian society, based on social justice and equality between women and men. To achieve this aim, the Centre has developed and is further developing, through its activities, a new Palestinian feminist discourse.
WCLAC is looking for a Media and Communication Coordinator based in Ramallah. The Media coordinator is who will lead and manage the organization’s digital media presence, feed website content, support in developing communication materials, and support in developing and launching advocacy campaigns, especially digital advocacy.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Social Media and Website Coordination Support:
• Contribute to developing and executing WCLAC’s media and communication plan.
• Manage WCLAC social media platforms and website content in both Arabic and English.
• Prepare press releases, monthly bulletin, and awareness materials.
• Develop, curate, and manage engaging multimedia content (text, graphics, video) for the website, social media channels, and monthly bulletin.
• Coordinate media coverage for events and campaigns.
• Build and maintain relationships with media outlets and partners.
• Ensure consistent messaging and visual branding across all communication materials.
• drafting, editing, and translating communication materials such as success stories, brochures, fact sheets, and social media content.
• Assist in designing, managing, and disseminating WCLAC publications (brochures, fact sheets, stories, etc.)
• Maintain organized media archives, including photos, videos, and publications.
• Assist in preparing simple visuals or coordinating with designers to produce digital materials.
• Contribute to the collection of stories and field updates from program teams for communication and advocacy purposes.
• Support in preparing basic materials for advocacy campaigns and online storytelling. Lead the planning and execution of public media awareness campaigns and advocacy initiatives.
Professional Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in media and communication for non-profit organizations
• Ability to think out of the box and translate innovative thinking into practice.
• Strong understanding of online influencing tools and digital advocacy on social media platforms.
• Proven experience managing websites and social media platforms and using content creation software
Skills and Competencies:
• Very good English and Arabic language skills
• Strong proficiency in writing and creating digital content and publishing across various digital platforms
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and persuasive content and messaging.
• Demonstrates women’s rights and feminist approach in media production.
• Demonstrates commitment to WCLAC's mission, vision, and values.
• Good coordination and organizational skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, and address fluctuating priorities and tight deadlines.
• Computer (MS Office including MS Project).
